The L.U.C.I.D. Method

Musical theory has a reputation for excellence — and inaccessibility. Harmony, counterpoint, auditory analysis : disciplines exciting, but traditionally taught in an academic setting designed for a young audience, box, and available full-time.
When you're adult, you have a professional life, and you want to have access to such knowledge by yourself... the doors are close. Not because these disciplines are out of reach, but because the tools to access have not been re-imagined.
It is precisely this that L. U. C. I. D. features : a new path.

L. U. C. I. D. is based on a principle confirmed by cognitive science : it retains the sustainable, which engages more senses simultaneously.
Each musical concept is rooted in the five sensorial dimensions :
The sound : you hear the raw material.
Gesture : a movement of the body that embodies each concept.
Colour : a colour palette intuitive that allows one to see the music.
Emotions : the emotional impact of each sound.
The context : the way in which the sounds encountered in the works that you interpret anchor
the sound in your memory.

This is not a simplification of the theory of music this is another path. The contents are the same as those of a traditional syllabus : this is the way of the pass which radically changes.

At the heart of the method is what we call the sense imaginary : the ability to re-create mentally a sound, a color, a gesture, a music scene full as a memory or a dream.
This skill makes the learning. Where the theory is often abstract, the meaning imaginary allow you to experience it from the inside. You close your eyes, and you hear a chord, an interval, a harmonic progression. The understanding is not intellectual, it is lived.

Each module L. U. C. I. D. is an attack in an area known to be difficult — ear relative, the harmony, the rhythm, the reading — and makes it accessible through pedagogical techniques designed to grow the capacity of the brain : associations multisensory, progress in stages, and always fun, as the engine.
The goal is not to circumvent the difficulty : it is to make it passable. You have access to the same knowledge that the students of the conservatory, but by a path that respects your pace, your time and your way of learning.

The principle behind this approach is simple and shown by research in the science of learning : the more the correction is frequent and immediate, more assimilation is easy. A teacher can correct a few dozens of attempts per course. The application, it corrects each attempt, in real time, without limit, and it is this repetition corrected, which accelerates the progression of dramatic and adapts to your pace.
